What is the difference between Bupernorphine and Methadone treatment?Anyone know the difference between these two treatment methods? I am think about starting a program and not really sure which is the best way to go. Methadone is nothing really in my opionion but trading one addiction for another. It made me very dopy and not able to work. Detoxing from methadone is also far worse than detoxing from opiates in my opinion. Bup actually killed any cravings with a mild high in contrast to methadone. Any buprenorphine provider should be able to provide you with an assessment to see if bup or methadone is your best choice. Medication assisted treatment is not for everyone. Get an assessment and find out if it is for you. If it is not your best choice, the provider should be able to advise you on where to go.
